As part of
our leisure topic in French this half term, KS2 French classes have been
learning about film genres.
We started off by introducing different genres of film in French.
We then practised saying what types of films we like...
...and why:
We also revisited other ways of expressing likes and dislikes...
...before conducting a class survey in French where pupils interviewed each other about which film genres they prefer:
The children then wrote a few sentences or a short paragraph about their own opinions of different films in French:
The pupils also discovered what the Cannes Film Festival is about:
Why not look at the Cannes Film Festival website to learn more about it ?
We ended the lesson by watching a trailer of the award winning animated movie Ernest & Célestine (2012):
Why not watch this trailer of Le Petit Prince (2015), an animated film based on the famous book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry ?
You could also watch this classic short French film Le Ballon rouge (1956)...
... or simply see what is on in French cinemas today :
There is also a fantastic cinema museum in Paris to discover :
Bon film !
