This week, we have been celebrating the European Day of Languages throughout Key Stage 2 !
At the initiative of the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, the
European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26
September.
A range of events are organised
across Europe: activities for and with children, television and radio
programmes, language classes and conferences.
This year, pupils have been discussing why it is important to learn a language...
Each Year 6 pupil was given a European Union poster to take home and learn a little bit more about modern Europe:
Why not watch this short clip about languages ...
... and then learn some more fun language facts to share with your classmates :
Happy European Day of Languages 2015 !
Great ideas! I've just read the comment you left on the facebook group and it's fantastic you've decided to start a blog! Well done Jane! I am looking forward to reading your next post ;-)

DeleteMost of my students' "European knowledge" is based on textbooks. Your blog allows me to show them what today's Europe is like, as well as reinforce my message that learning another language is important and can be useful to them in the future. Your blog helps put a real face to other people in the world.
